Siskins!

Although I've had a single Pine Siskins visiting my feeder periodically since November, this last cold front finally brought down a sizable sum of seven seed-eating siskins. I've decided to share some of my photos.

Great birds and photos! We've had lots of reports of siskins through the Finger Lakes (NY), some in the hundreds, but we've only had a smattering of birds at our feeder. Inauguration Day brought a flock of some 40 birds, including one "Green Morph." I wasn't able to get a photo of that bird, but am hoping they return!

Hope you get more winter specialties as the season progresses!

Cool. I finally had some at my feeder on Tuesday when it snowed so much. Maybe they'll stick around.

Thanks for stopping by, Mike and Nathan,
There's a Common Redpoll 60 miles away. Wish it would make it to my feeders!

Wow! You are in serious bird territory! That's a cool photot of the Great-horned tufts sticking up.

@ Larry,
Thanks for dropping by! Haven't been writing much lately. You think we have birds, northern Missouri has been great lately, with Snowy Owl, Ferruginous Hawk, Prairie Falcon, Brown Pelican, Northern Shrike, and several rare gulls! I haven't ventured up there though.
